Life-Saving Milestones Reached in June
Jackson, MI --
Jun 27, 2008 --
The South Central Michigan Chapter of the American Red Cross wishes to the thank the following citizens for reaching new “Gallon Donor Levels” in the month of June. Each gallon level reached equals eight blood donations. Each single blood donation is separated into three blood products (red blood cells, platelets and plasma), which means three lives could be saved from one donation.
24 Gallons: Patricia Beffel of Clark Lake – may have saved 576 lives.
15 Gallons: Don Lectka of Jackson – may have saved 360 lives.
11 Gallons: Willis Kilbourn of Spring Arbor – may have saved 264 lives.
6 Gallons: Carol Martin of Grass Lake
Janet Roys of Jackson
Roger Stuchell of Hillsdale
5 Gallons: Tim Joyce of Jackson
Bruce Pindzia of Grass Lake
4 Gallons: Carolyn Blue of Grass Lake
Deb Melville of Napoleon
3 Gallons: Ann Geniusz of Grass Lake
Linda Hutchinson of Grass Lake
Judy Parzych of Grass Lake
With only 6% of the public donating blood even though more than 70% will need blood products we deeply thank these individuals because:
“Never was so much owed by so many to so few.”
