Frequently Asked Questions about American Red Cross Full Service Training
What is full service training?
American Red Cross (ARC) Full Service Health and Safety Training is when your company or organization contracts with the ARC to provide training at your place of business. The ARC will provide the instructor, the manikins and all of the other materials for the class. You only need to supply a location to hold the training.
How much space do I need?
Most of our programs have both a classroom and skills component. You will need to provide an area for the lecture portion as well as enough floor space to accommodate all of your employees and one manikin for every two students.
How much notice is needed?
We ask for as much notice as possible for a class. We like to have classes scheduled at least 2 weeks in advance. However, we can make accommodations for last minute classes and we offer a “Rainy Day” training program for companies that want to train only when it is raining. Contact us for additional information.
Are there a minimum or maximum number of students for full service training?
The minimum number for on-site full service training is 6 students. We do not have an established maximum because we have the ability to utilize additional instructors for the class. However, if the number of participants is greater than 30, you lose a great deal of personal interaction with the instructor.
What if I have less than 6 people to train?
You have several options. First, you can still schedule a full service training with the understanding that you will be charged for 6 participants. Second, you can send your employees to one of our Community Classes to be trained, or finally, you can have a person in your organization become a trainer and hold your own training sessions.
Do I need to have a TV/ DVD?
Much of the class is video based. Whenever possible, we ask you to provide a TV/ DVD for the class. This reduces the amount of materials your instructor will need to bring along.
How long does it take to get the certification cards?
Typically, you will have your cards within 10 business days of the course completion. However, your employees are certified at the completion of the class, even though they may not yet have their cards.
Do you offer discounts for large groups?
We offer a discount to any company or organization that trains at least 50 people annually.
Do I have to pay upfront for the training?
No. We will send an invoice after the completion of the training. However, you will be asked to sign a training contract prior to the class.
