Dear Artist:
Excitement. Innovation. Style. Controversy.
Coming back to Jackson courtesy of the American Red Cross, the Pop-Up Galley red. Red will be open in downtown Jackson from March 22 through March 25, 2012, and you are invited to share in the profit and the buzz. The gallery will be open to the public during daytime hours and will be hosting events in the evening hours.
The grand opening will be a VIP ticketed event, the likes of which Jackson has only seen at previous VIP red events. The red carpet will be out, red dress will be appropriate, and the signature drink will be red. Your artwork will be on display and for sale. On opening night, we will have performance art and conversation, viewing of the gallery -- all for the benefit of Red Cross.
Here is the most exciting part for you. Although this is a charity event, red recognizes the artist as a business person and invites you to share in the proceeds. At red, you will receive 40% of your items sold. There is no fee to be included in the gallery, and any works unsold can be picked up after the event.
This is a juried event, so please send digital images of the work or types of work that you hope to include in this event to Maggie@art634.com. We would like to have a wide range of sale prices and are including all mediums, to appeal to the diverse audience we are targeting,

The deadline for entry is February 28, 2012, and artists will be notified of acceptance by March 7, 2012.
Upon acceptance by the jury, you will receive a contract with details. If you are accepted by the jury, the number of pieces accepted will be determined by the overall number of artists applying and the size of the pop up gallery. You may submit up to five images. The gallery will be manned at all times by Red Cross personnel and volunteers. There will be advance marketing of the events, a website featuring the artwork, and the freedom to place your marketing pieces in the gallery.
