Summer is here! That means it's time for fun in the water!

If you're looking to become a Water Safety Instructor there will be a class coming up at Hillsdale College in June. If you're interested send an email to healthandsafety@redcross-scmichigan.org Cost: $200 plus materials $50.

Also available is the Spring Arbor Swim Camp 2008

Session 2 June 16-27 Monday-Friday

9am-10am Level 1 & 2 (beginners age 6 and older), Level 3 (beginners, but a little more advanced), Level 4, and Level 5

10am-10:30am Parent-tot: Parent assisted, ages 2 & 3

10am-11am: Level 6- Water Safety/Fitness Swimmer

10:30am-11:15am: Pre-Beginner (Level 1): Parent assisted, ages 4 & 5

11:15am-12:15pm: Level 1 & 2 (beginners age 6 and older), Level 3 (beginners, but a little more advanced), Level 4, and Level 5

A vital role the Red Cross plays in South Central Michigan is the training in the areas of health and safety.  From services as old as CPR to the latest technology such as Automated External Defibrillation (AED) the Red Cross is here to lead the way.  Follow one of the links above to learn more about specific services we offer.   New changes in Red Cross CPR and First Aid Training have been released.  Follow this link to find out the details of these changes.   Host a CPR Party! As a new parent you might find it difficult to get out of the house to take a traditional CPR class.  Why not take a class in the comfort of your own home?  Invite other parents to bring their children and join you for a CPR party.  If you have six (6) participants, your local Red Cross Chapter can come to the location of your choice to provide training to you and your friends.  Serve snacks and invite a local babysitter to help keep an eye on the kids while you and your friends learn how to save lives.  Contact Abe Chapin, Health & Safety Coordinator, at 517-782-9486, or by e-mail at achapin@redcross-scmichigan.org for fees and additional information.
